Narrative of report:
I was just out for a night quad run through the swamp. After trudging for about 45 min in my 4x4 low in fender deep sludge I figured it was about time to let the 4 wheeler cool off. I pulled it up on dryer land and was just listening to nature. After listening to the rustle of small to medium sized animals move around, probably my second smoke into the peaceful midnight nature absorption, I figured it was time to leave. I had gotten spooked by something rather large. There wasn't any smell or any noise other than snapping limbs and leaf rustling under what sounded like something rather large so yeah my way back to the house was quick and at almost as fast as I could travel. On my way back I saw the glow of animal eyes roughly the right height off the ground to be a medium dog or good sized cat. This creature run in front of a tree just off the corner I was coming up on at roughly 30-40mph. Shortly after the eye glow of the small creature went out of view I saw it was being followed by a big dark figure. The glow from the eyes of this second creature was remarkably higher off the ground moving very fast for any animal.
after the sun came up I went back out to measure the distance from the ground to the tall creature and the glow was roughly 6 to 6.5 feet off the ground. The measurement was to the tree it passed in front of. I estimated the height from a knot in the tree I had spotted in the dark, which I measured as being 7ft up the tree

Further information obtained in follow up questions is:
The creature was seen at a range of 60 to 80 feet.
The color of the eye shine was green to yellow, and typical of an animals eyes reflecting a light source. The small animal being pursued by this creature had eye-shine also, the color was green to red.
As the witness watched, the large creature never took its eyes off of the small creature it was pursuing.
Light from the headlights was not good enough to tell the precise color of the creature.
