Narrative of report:

The witness was driving home on a back road running along a hillside which runs parallel to Yellow Creek.  Through the passenger window, she saw something large and black, so she hit the brakes to check and see if the neighbors had a cow out, standing in a tractor road that ran between the corn field and the fence along a wooded area.  Looking closer as the vehicle slowed, she could clearly see a black or dark brown creature standing on two legs in a semi-squatting position, with its right arm scratching its left shoulder.  Its torso was turned slightly away from her, and she could not see any facial features as the head was turned completely away.  The hair which covered it was long and stringy.  By the time the vehicle came to a complete stop, the creature was behind a line of trees and no longer visible.  Her car had no reverse gear, so she could not back up, and she had no intention of getting out and walking back, so she continued home.

Later, investigators wanted to look for scat or tracks, so returned to the scene with her.  They asked her to stay in the car, and they would walk on the tractor road down the hill until she yelled “stop”, indicating they had reached the location.  When they reached the spot, she let them know and they said there was a game trail there that led from the woods into the field and down to the creek.  They searched for any evidence, but found nothing.  As she watched them walking around where the creature had been, she remarked that it was MUCH larger they were and they were both big men.

The below sketch was made by the witness immediately after the sighting.
