Narrative of report:
I was out at the barn one morning and noticed there was a very unusual pile of cedar branches laid out in a mattress type appearance. I had never seen anything like it before and showed it to my sister, Brenda, and my mother. It was piled very thick, 10 inches high, about 3 feet wide and 8 feet long, just as you would think for a bed. It was placed between the side of the barn and a large tree.
Upon examining the bed we noticed that some of the nearby trees had broken or had cut branches missing from them. I followed these for a while and I am 6’1” and these branches had been broken or cut higher than I could reach. It was a complete puzzle to me and still is to this day.
The “bed” stayed there for at least a year and every day we noticed that it was wallowed in more and more and getting more compressed as time went by. We also noted that the plastic ice cube trays that Brenda put out at night for her many cats she kept were being carted off at night and found lying many yards away, emptied of their food. They were never moved during the day. She eventually bored a hole in the ends of the trays and chained them to the porch with small chains to keep from having to hunt them so much. They were always emptied and laying as if thrown down by someone in the morning. In addition, we heard twice a most hideous roar near the end of our mobile home during this period.
The most frightening thing that occurred was one night I was ready for bed. As my room had been built on the other end of the trailer across the porch with only an outside entrance, I turned off the lights, went out the front door, then felt my way between the freezers for my door knob. It was pitch black outside. I was sorry that I hadn’t turned the porch light on because I could barely see in front of my face. It was then that I bumped into a very solid something and it was unusually tall, whatever it was. I reached out my hand and felt for it and touched fur or hair, possibly three to four inches long. I scrambled backwards in total terror and managed to get back into the front door. It was several minutes before I had the nerve to turn the front porch light on and when I did there was nothing out there. I wanted to believe that I had touched a solid ghost of some kind, but do not know what it was to this day.
