Narrative of report:

We were gathering wood at the top of Skookum Mountain, and had been there for about 10 minutes, just grabbing wood on the side of the road when my uncle said, “What’s that?  Get the binoculars.”

So we had 2 or 3 pair and started looking. First we saw trees moving and studied the area, then we saw a tall, shadowy figure, maybe 4 feet shorter than the trees it was behind.  It moved very quickly between the tree cover.  We all watched as we saw its knees bending while it was running.  We lost sight of it afterward in the tree cover.  My uncle said it was still and looking in our direction when he spotted it in the commotion of finding the binoculars.  It hid then and then the trees rustled and it ran through a clearing looking where it was running.  It was far below us in the flatland below the mountain.  This location was about 30 miles away from the nearest house. There was a camping resort about 30 miles above up on the main road.  That day we didn’t pass any traffic or cars on our way up and we were about 10 miles away from the main road. From where the creature was when we first seen it, it appeared to be going north toward the road that winds between the main road and the mountain which consisted of a dirt road.  Most of the trees in this lower area were about 10-14 feet high.  We estimated the creature as being about 8 feet tall or taller and thought it was hiding in the taller trees that it ran into when we first seen it.  We hung out for a while trying to see it again, but we didn’t try to track it.  We left about a half an hour later.

Follow up:   Witnesses were interviewed and found to be credible.
